Nokia's BIG surprise?

WARNING, THIS IS ANOTHER LONG POST!

As most of us phone maniacs know, Nokia has not been releasing flagship phones for quite some time that could really amaze us. Well, this is the year, mates *smile*
Nokia is planning something big to compete against iPhone and the rising OS, Google Android. You guys should have a look at Android 2.0 and 2.1 interface, it looks so breath-taking *zips mouth*

Anyway, what I have known so far, Nokia announced a new cool feature called Mobile Radar.
That basically means that you can measure an object's distance and speed, offering the chance to tell how fast a car is travelling.

Nokia also offered free navigation with Nokia Ovi Maps, how cool is that?
We can use it anytime without paying a single cent, so no worries!
No more getting lost! Love it!
Here's a funny video regarding the free service.

Based on official announcements, Qualcomm joined Nokia not long ago. And that is a very very great co-op to produce a very fast mobile, I can't imagine what Nokia would be able to do with a powerful processor by Qualcomm known as Snapdragon, wow!!
Snapdragon processor is a very popular platform and is used in phones like Toshiba TG01 smartphone, HTC HD2, Nexus One, SE Xperia X10 and HTC Desire. This processor boasts a speed of 1GHz for now. That is so so fast for a mobile phone, imagine a mobile phone being lagg-free, that would solve our miseries *laughs*
Recently, Qualcomm created a chip that uses 2 CPU cores that run up to 1.5GHz and would be expected to be in use by mobile devices by 2nd half of 2010 *excited*

Anyway, Nokia has set new series for the releases of their products.
Say goodbye to XpressMusic and Classic Series because we won't be seeing them anymore, as claimed by them.

Series :
C - lower end voiced-based
X - focus on entertainment, music for a young target
E - dedicated to business, solutions for e-mails
N - high-end
S - very upscale and limited editions

Some known and rumoured releases are C3, C5, C6, X10, N920, N87/VASCO and N98

Here are some of the C5 pictures that I found.

The C5 is just a basic business phone with GPS. Packs a 3.2 mp camera, very simple phone actually. This phone is expected to be released by June, not in Malaysia of course.

And this is the rumoured N98

Looks so much like N97, except that it's in green now. Not my type *faces away*

There's another rumoured phone called N87 or with the code name VASCO that might be released.

Lets see whats the VASCO has:

Looks superb, right? Very powerful camera and video recorder but I'm just worried about the phone's performance, 680MHz wouldn't be enough to support these features, the phone might be slow, gosh. They better implement the Snapdragon, on the double!

This is another rumour, and many claimed that it's fake, it's Nokia X10. Don't get confused with SE's Xperia X10, they are different.

Here are the specs :

  • Slider with QWERTY keyboard
  • Multiple homescreens with auto rotation
  • 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU
  • 3.2” AMOLED capacitive touchscreen
  • 32/16GB internal storage
  • 256 MB of RAM
  • HSDPA, Wi-Fi, A-GPS
  • 5 mpx camera with LED flash

Lastly, Nokia released a new operating system named Symbian ^3.
It is really impressive, as in the controls and all. However, the interface doesn't seem as attractive as Google Android's operating system. Personal opinion and preferences.

Here's some of Symbian^3 snapshots

I watched this video and it's when I thought that Symbian ^3 improved a lot from their previous interface. Thumbs up!!

I guess that's all I'm excited about Nokia *laughs*
They have released a booklet too, but I'm more into Alienware.
I pray that Nokia releases many great and quality phones so that Nokia will never fail to surprise and impress us users, I'm looking forward to what Nokia will do this year. *getting hype*
Hope you enjoy the post, especially Nokia fans!
